3 days Mikumi National Park Tour, On the inaugural day of your safari, you will be collected from your lodging in Dar es Salaam or the airport and transported to Mikumi National Park via the Dar es Salaam – Morogoro road. The park is situated between the Uluguru Mountains of the Ancient Eastern Arc Mountains to the east and the Great Rift Valley Escarpments to the west.
The journey from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi requires approximately 4 to 4.5 hours and is in close proximity to Dar es Salaam. You will arrive at noon and promptly embark on a game drive in the park, followed by a picnic lunch at a designated location. We will travel to your camp or lodge for supper and overnight accommodations later in the afternoon.
Day 2: Comprehensive Game Drive in Mikumi National Park.
Enjoy breakfast at your lodge or camp before departing with your driver-guide to discover the magnificent landscapes of Mikumi National Park. Experience an entire day of game viewing in Mikumi National Park with a packed lunch, or partake in morning and afternoon game viewing with a lunch intermission at the lodge or tented camp. Mikumi National Park, in conjunction with the Selous Game Reserve, constitutes a segment of the expansive Selous Ecosystem and harbors a variety of avian and terrestrial species.
Mikumi National Park is home to giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, impalas, warthogs, zebras, wildebeests, elands, and numerous other antelope species. In addition to the saddle-bill stork, hammerkop, and malachite kingfisher, the ponds also harbor monitor lizards and a venomous python. In addition to animal drives, you may participate in a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. Outside the park, overnight accommodations are available at the Camp or Lodge within the park. Lunch and dinner are supplied.
Day 3: Morning Safari and Transit Return to Mikumi National Park.
On your final day, you will partake in an early breakfast at your resort or camp. You will experience a final game drive as you depart the park and return to Dar es Salaam. This morning’s game drive you an opportunity to seek out any species you may have overlooked during prior excursions in the park. You will have lunch en route to Dar es Salaam, where you will be dropped off at a hotel of your preference or the airport.
