Day 1: Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

On the initial 3 days  Mikumi National Park wildlife safari, you will be collected from your hotel in Dar es Salaam or the airport and commence your journey to Mikumi National Park via the Dar es Salaam – Morogoro highway. The park is situated between the Uluguru Mountains of the Ancient Eastern Arc Mountains to the east and the Great Rift Valley Escarpments to the southwest. Travel from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi, located not far from the city and accessible via a well-maintained tarmac road, takes approximately 4 to 4.5 hours. You will arrive at approximately midday and proceed directly to game drives within the park, with a packed lunch at a designated picnic location. In the afternoon, we proceed to the Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Overnight accommodations are available at Camp Bastian, a well-appointed lodge situated on the outskirts of Mikumi National Park, offering all the amenities typical of a luxury establishment. The resort features exquisite gardens and a pleasant swimming pool, ideal for refreshing oneself from the intense African sun during the dry season. Lunch and dinner are included.

Day 2: Full Safari in Mikumi National Park

Engage in a full day of game drives in Mikumi National Park with a packed lunch, or partake in morning and afternoon game drives with a lunch intermission at the lodge or tented camp. Mikumi National Park is integrated within the expansive Selous Ecosystem, which includes the Selous Game Reserve, and hosts a significant diversity of avian and terrestrial fauna. Mikumi is home to several creatures, including giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, impalas, warthogs, zebras, wildebeests, elands, and numerous other antelope species. In addition to game drives in the park, one may also partake in a guided walking safari led by an armed ranger.

Day 3: Mikumi National Park to Dar Es Salaam

This morning, after breakfast, check out of the lodge/camp and drive back to Dar es Salaam with a picnic lunch en route, where the safari concludes. You will be returned to your hotel or Dar es Salaam Airport if you are departing for home or flying to Zanzibar.
