The Southern Tanzania Safari commences with a trip from the urban center of Dar es Salaam to the remote Nyerere National Park in South-Eastern Tanzania, approximately 230 km away, which takes about 5 to 6 hours.

1200 Hours: A break will be taken for a picnic lunch during the picturesque trip to Nyerere National Park. The duration of travel is 6 to 7 hours.
1500 Hours: Upon arrival at Nyerere National Park, you will settle into your accommodation and subsequently embark on a boat excursion to the Rujiji River, where crocodiles, hippos, and grazing wildlife may be observed. We often encounter buffaloes and elephants along the banks, while competing with hippos for right-of-way. The Rufiji River is very abundant in avian species. These comprise Fish Eagles, Herons, Egyptian Geese, many storks, Bee-eaters, and Kingfishers.

0800 Hours: After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch at Nyerere National Park, named after the explorer Frederick Selous. The Nyerere National Park is the largest protected wildlife reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and an uninhabited territory exceeding the size of Switzerland.
The park’s geography consists of undulating savannah woodlands, grassland plains, and rocky outcrops intersected by the Rufiji River and its tributaries.
